Das Sujet des Portraits ist die Quelle dieses zeichnerischen Schaffens. Die allerersten Gehversuche, schon im Kindesalter, in Sachen Zeichnen, waren in erster Linie Portraits, hauptsächlich und fast ausschließlich damals, von John, Paul, George und Ringo. Diese frühe, kindliche Intention, auch später und bis heute, sich immer wieder diesem Thema zu widmen, ist im Grunde die immer gleiche geblieben; nämlich sich bildnerisch mit Personen zu umgeben, die man schätzt, vielleicht sogar bewundert und ehren will. Natürlich ist auch der formale Freiraum, dem einem das Portrait bietet, immer wieder Anreiz, sich auch weiterhin mit diesem Thema zu beschäftigen.
